Good morning. Checking reader first, before social networks

I never manage to read the news and blogging otherwise. Twitter, Facebook, Buzz & co. can be really time consuming. Anyone with a real plan on how to do save time?
I got a book. "Simplify Your Time". The problem: I don't have time to read it at the moment. Oh irony...
