160th years ago the famous World Expo took place for the very first time at London. in the following years, big inventions were presented to the, often speechless, public and other inventors.
One of the milestones were the presentation of the Eiffeltower in Paris 1889. 1926 in Philadelphia, the first real movie with audio was exhibited. The Expo 2000 was held in Hannover, Germany and even had a soundtrack from Kraftwerk.
Google made a Doodle for this 160th anniversary. In 2011 there will be no Expo however. The next one will be 2012 in Yeosu, South Korea.
